Lahir :Huntington Beach, California, Amerika Serikat, 31 Juli 1981 (umur 29) Genre :Metalcore, Hard rock, Heavy Metal, Hardcore Punk Instrumen :Vocals, Piano, Keyboards, Guitar, Bass Tahun aktif :1999–Present Perusahaan rekaman :Warner Bros., Good Life Recordings, Hopeless Records Matt bersekolah tingkat atas(SMA) di Huntington Beach, California. Dimana disitulah dia memiliki band pertamanya bernama Succesfull Failure, yang tidak berlangsung lama. Lalu setelah itu dia bersama teman sejatinya, Jimmy Sullivan mulai membentuk cikal bakal Avenged Sevenfold. Matt sudah menikah dengan Valary DiBenedetto, saudara kembar dari pacar Synyster Gates, Michelle DiBenedetto. Matt bertemu Valary ketika mereka berada di kelas 6. Pada masa kecilnya, Matt seringkali dikeluarkan dari sekolahnya karena dia berkali-kali melakukan kekerasan, bahkan kepala sekolahnya pun meningal gara2 kelakuan Matt yg tak terkendali. Sebelum bernyanyi, Matt bermain bass. dan 3 kali operasi karena pita suaranya putus akibat scream yang belum matang. Matt di vonis dokter tidak bisa Screaming lagi karena jika melakukannya lagi, pita suaranya bisa hancur. Tapi seperti yang kita ketahui, Matt sendiri tetap mampu melakukan teknik Scream dan Growl nya saat diatas panggung, meskipun tidak semaksimal dulu lagi. Shadows sudah banyak tampil diberbagai album artis lainnya sebagai pendukung. Matt Shadows memiliki vokal yang khas disetiap lagu yang dinyanyikannya. Dua album Avenged Sevenfold "Sounding the Seventh Trumpet" & "Waking The Fallen" suara Shadows sangat Hardcore dan sedikit ada unsur Slownya (Ballad rock). Setelah pita suaranya rusak, di album ketiga Avenged Sevenfold "City of Evil", Shadows terpaksa berganti dari yang scream & growl menjadi lebih bernyanyi, melodius dan sedikit scream dengan sedikit bantuan dari scream Jimmy The Rev. Begitu juga di album keempat mereka "Self Titled". Barulah di album terbaru mereka yang berjudul "Nightmare", Shadows mulai berani screaming lagi bahkan lebih berat dan keras dibanding album Waking The Fallen, seperti di lagu God Hates Us, dan dibeberapa lagu lainnya yg sedikit screamnya.

Welcome to Indonesia guys

disappointment at the cancellation of concerts Avenged sevenfold

I was one of the millions of fans of the california metal band Avenged Sevenfold.
when I heard that if the month of May 2012 they will hold a concert in Indonesia on the beach Carnival Ancol, Jakarta. I really want to watch them. but because of various obstacles that impeded urgent I do not watch them.
but, as of May 1 came, I saw on Youtube they have reached Indonesia, but, really disappointed when I know they ( the promotor) canceled the concert because of security reasons.
when there are thousands of fans who had come from all over to watch their performances.
but when I heard the news, I was very disappointed. not for Avenged but at the promoters who can not hold a concert that has been awaited by millions of people.
I was crying, afraid that if Avenged did not want to come to Indonesia for another concert, and I have not seen them in person, have not heard them play live music.
I never missed their music heard.
songs that they created is extraordinary.
I hope they come here again at the right time.
probably 2-3 years away. I'll watch them.

15 RIBU PEMINAT MALAYSIA TERPUKAU DENGAN AKSI BERTENAGA AVENGED SEVENFOLD

Surf Beach, Sunway Lagoon, Kuala Lumpur menjadi saksi utama kehebatan band yang berasal dari California, USA. Avenged Sevenfold lebih dikenali sebagai A7X telah memukau lebih 15 ribu peminat setia mereka di Malaysia pada 29 April lalu.  Persembahan tanpa henti selama 1 jam 30 minit itu ternyata cukup energetic dengan aksi-aksi bersahaja daripada A7X.  Kumpulan yang ditubuhkan sekitar tahun 1999 ini cukup terkenal dengan lagu-lagu popular mereka seperti ‘Bat Country’, ‘Afterlife’, ‘So Far Away’dan sebagainya.
M.Shadows, Zacky Vengeance, Synyster Gates dan Johnny Christ adalah individu yang bertanggungjawab untuk memastikan peminat mereka di Malaysia amnya dan peminat muzik metalcore dan heavy metal berpuashati dengan persembahan yang mereka tampilkan.  Konsert yang dipersembahkan  oleh Tune Talk dan dijayakan bersama oleh JS Production dengan kerjasama Fat boys boleh dianggap satu impian yang menjadi kenyataan.  Para peminat mula membanjiri  ruang masuk taman tema Sunway Lagoon  sejak dari awal petang .Rata rata peminat yang hadir adalah dikalangan anak muda yang begitu teruja dengan kehadiran kumpulan kesayangan mereka. Penantian selama 1 jam cukup bermakna bagi peminat A7X .
Aksi A7X ternyata menarik minat penonton yang hadir dimana petikan gitar dari  Synyster Gates serta vokal yang mantap dari M.Shadowns. Tidak kurang dengan itu, kumpulan ini turut menyampaikan beberapa lagu hits mereka dari Album pertama hingga terkini. Antara lagu terbaru kumpulan ini adalah seperti ‘Nightmare’ , ‘Welcome To The Family’ dan ‘So Far Away’ yang dipetik dari album kelima mereka.
Antara detik menarik di Konsert ini adalah penonton yang hadir melakukan “Mosh” yang terbaik pernah dilihat oleh A7X. Keghairahan penonton yang hadir bertambah setelah lagu-lagu yang disampaikan oleh A7X berjaya membuatkan orang ramai terpegun dengan vokal serta musik kumpulan ini. Namun detik gembira penonton itu bertukar sedih apabila A7X menyampaikan lagu berjudul “So Far Away”. Lagu tersebut ditujukan kepada bekas ahli kumpulan A7X yang meninggal dunia beberapa tahun lalu iaitu The Rev (Drummer). Lagu yang dinyanyikan beramai-ramai sambil dihiasi dengan cahaya pemetik api telah mengamatkan lagi suasana di konsert tersebut. Lagu tersebut merupakan diantara single pada album terbaru dan A7X sangat merindui sahabatnya itu.Turut diperkenalkan adalah ahli terbaru yang mengantikan drummer tersebut iaitu Arin Ilejay .
Tahniah sekali lagi kepada pihak penganjur Tune Talk dan JS production yang berjaya merealisasikan impian peminat muzik rock dengan membawakan Avenged Sevenfold . Tune Talk CEO Jason Lomenyatakan bahawa ini adalah “hadiah” diatas permintaan peminat supaya membawa sebuah kumpulan rock dimana impian setiap peminat kumpulan tersebut telah  pun tercapai.
